CCU Men's Golf Team Earns First-Ever NCAA Regional Title, Advances to National Championships
Lakewood, CO — Colorado Christian University (CCU) proudly announces that its men's golf team has secured its first-ever NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional Championship title. The Cougars achieved this historic milestone at the Victoria Club in Riverside, California, from May 8–10, 2025, with a commanding 14-stroke victory and a team score of 818 (-46).
This triumph marks a significant achievement for the Cougars, who are the defending NCAA Division II National Champions. They now advance to the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships, scheduled for May 19–23 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
The team's performance was highlighted by standout rounds from several players. Sangha Park led the team with a second-place individual finish, shooting rounds of 65, 70, and 67 for a total of 202 (-14). Adam Duncan and Xavier Bighaus both tied for third place individually, each posting a total score of 204 (-12). Peyton Jones finished 20th with a five-under 211, while Sungyeop Cho posted a one-over 217.
CCU Athletics Director, Jonathan Poag, reflected on the team’s accomplishment, saying, “This victory is a testament to the dedication and talent of our student-athletes. Their commitment to excellence, both on and off the course, continues to elevate our program to new heights.”
The Cougars' regional title adds to an impressive season, which includes a record-breaking performance at the 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Championships, where they clinched their second consecutive RMAC title with a 24-stroke victory and a 54-hole team score of 814 (-50).
