CCU Cougars Dominate RMAC Tournament, Earn Spot in NCAA Regionals
The Colorado Christian University Cougars proved they were deserving hosts of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Tournament by winning three straight games and capturing the RMAC crown with a 6–0 victory over Colorado Mesa on May 3 at Dee Welsch Field. This triumph marks CCU’s third conference tournament title in four years and their fifth consecutive appearance in the championship game.
From the very first inning, the top-seeded Cougars showcased their balance of pitching strength and timely hitting. Sophomore pitcher Elyse McMullin, who also drove in three runs, was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. Freshman pitcher‐outfielder Hanna Espinoza, outfielder Camryn Quilling and freshman outfielder Sarah Dollerschell joined McMullin on the All-Tournament Team for their key contributions over the weekend.
