Hugh Hewitt Visits Colorado Christian University

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Colorado Christian University (CCU) welcomed nationally syndicated radio host and commentator Hugh Hewitt to campus on Friday, March 13, for a full day of events engaging donors, students, alumni, and the broader community.

Hewitt’s visit began with a VIP donor breakfast hosted by CCU’s Centennial Institute, where he offered insights on the current political landscape, the role of faith in public life, and the importance of principled leadership. Following the breakfast, Hewitt sat down with CCU President Eric Hogue for a private conversation focused on the value of Christian higher education and why students and families continue to choose a CCU education rooted in faith, academic excellence, and worldview formation.

Following this discussion, Hewitt broadcast a live edition of The Hugh Hewitt Show from campus, featuring interviews with CCU alumni now serving in fields including politics, government, law, business, and the nonprofit sector. The broadcast highlighted the university’s commitment to preparing graduates who lead with conviction and influence across a wide range of industries.

The day concluded with an evening keynote address in which Hewitt addressed pressing global and cultural issues, including rising antisemitism and the evolving conflict in the Middle East. Speaking to a full audience, Hewitt emphasized that antisemitism is incompatible with Christian conviction and must be rejected wherever it appears — whether on the political left or the right.

Hewitt’s visit came on the heels of CCU for Israel week, an initiative to educate and engage the campus community on the historical and geopolitical significance of Israel. The University hosts CCU for Israel to affirm the dignity of all people, stand firmly against antisemitism, and encourage thoughtful, civil dialogue on complex global issues. Rooted in a commitment to biblical understanding as well as religious freedom and democratic values, the initiative reflects CCU’s mission to prepare students to engage the world thoughtfully and with conviction.

Drawing on history, constitutional principles, and current events, Hewitt articulated the enduring alliance between the United States and Israel, citing shared values, rule of law, and mutual national interests. He encouraged attendees to remain informed, engaged, and grounded in both faith and civic responsibility as they navigate complex global challenges.

“Having known Hugh for many years, it was a privilege to welcome him back to campus and to see our students, alumni, and supporters engage with his perspective firsthand,” said CCU President Eric Hogue. “I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside him in the past, and I deeply respect his commitment to thoughtful dialogue and principled leadership. His message resonates with our mission to equip students to lead with conviction and clarity in today’s culture.”

Throughout his visit, Hewitt reinforced the importance of thoughtful discourse, moral clarity, and leadership rooted in enduring principles—values that align closely with CCU’s mission to develop students who impact the world for Christ.
