Dr. Kurt Diesch received his formal education at Iowa State University and received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering in 1989. His real love is software development and Diesch has been working in that area since the early 80's. He has written some software that people have probably seen on store shelves and many custom programs and websites too. Diesch grew up and lived in Iowa until his recent move to nearby Illinois, although he spent about 15 years in other parts of the country working with software companies and his own software development and consulting business.

In his academic career Diesch has held positions as a professor at Iowa State University for five years and the Dean of the College of Business and Technology at another online university. To date, Diesch has taught over 1,000 online courses at several online schools and has written over 100 more. His exposure to online education has made him a firm believer in this medium.
