Biography and Professional Achievements
Dr. Lance Nozot has been in public education for 27 years. He has served as a classroom teacher, department chair, technology instructional coordinator, and Director of Educational Technology. He is currently back in the classroom teaching American Sign Language to high school and college students.
Currently, Dr. Nozot is serving on the Douglas County School District World Language Curriculum Council, focusing on curriculum and instruction related to the Colorado Academic Standards (CAS2020) for World Languages, the use of incorporating learning technologies into instructional practices, and how CAS2020 and learning technologies integration will impact the teaching and learning of second language acquisition, specifically American Sign Language, in Douglas County School District (DCSD).
Alongside his full-time position as a high school American Sign Language teacher, Dr. Nozot serves as affiliate faculty at Colorado Christian University, Red Rocks Community College, and the University of Northern Colorado, where he teaches American Sign Language and interpreter theory and skills courses.
Beyond his career's educational and professional aspects, Dr. Nozot has a passion for reaching the Deaf community with the love of Christ. He is passionate about raising up future Christian leaders with the necessary communication skills in American Sign Language to impact this often-overlooked people group.
