Biography and Professional Achievements
Ry Mittlestadt is a doctoral candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Colorado Christian University, where his research and scholarship focus on the development of counselors-in-training, especially those who have experienced an early life traumatic event. He is drawing closer to the final stages of dissertation writing and research.
Teaching has been a passion of Ry’s for some time. He was an adjunct instructor at a local community college where he taught introductory psychology courses for almost ten years. He also taught as an affiliate instructor at CCU for five years in the School of Counseling.
Ry maintains a limited private practice where he specializes in working with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and supervising pre-licensed counselors. He has been an active member of the Colorado Counseling Association’s legislative committee since 2023.
