Biography and Professional Achievements

Dr. Torrie Gilden started as an online affiliate faculty with CCU in 2020 and joined as a full-time online faculty member in June 2021. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Substance Use Disorder professional in Washington State, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Gilden is also a trainer for Motivational Interviewing.

Gilden has worked in the fields of mental health and addiction since 2012 with a wide range of clients and presenting issues. She has experience working both in community behavioral health agencies and private practice. As a co-occurring clinician, Gilden takes a trauma-informed lens and utilizes techniques such as EMDR, and motivational interviewing to meet people where they are and walk alongside them as they explore growth and healing. Gilden is passionate about helping newly graduated clinicians on their path toward professional growth and licensure and offers licensure supervision as part of her private practice. Gilden is also passionate about working with her community on the issues of mental health and works to consult with various entities on suicide prevention and providing motivational interviewing training.

Gilden is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and the American Association of Christian Counselors.
