Your Home Away From Home
At CCU, campus living is about community. This kind of community is formed through weekly roommate dinners, playing intramural sports, and being an active member of organizations and service groups.
The close community at CCU is fostered through continued fellowship, encouragement, accountability, and service; it’s with others who will encourage you to develop your talents, pursue your passions, and live your life with both God’s direction and purpose.
Our community is unique, which is why many of our students say they have been transformed after coming to CCU.

Students get their roommates as they select their rooms, either by selecting a bedroom with another occupant who already has an assignment or by selecting an empty bedroom, which another student may join later.
Students receive room selection timeslots within 72 hours of application submission and complete room selection. Students who do not select housing assignments within one week of application submission will be placed in housing assignments by Residence Life based upon housing and lifestyle preferences.
Student Housing FAQs
How and when can I apply for university housing?
You must be admitted to CCU before you can apply for housing. and the housing application timeline must be open. The housing application opens for Fall arrivals in late February, and the application opens in late October for Spring arrivals. Once both tuition and housing deposits are submitted and processed (processing generally takes two business days), you will have access to complete your housing application
What is the difference between my housing application and the housing lease?
Your housing application and deposit indicate your intention to live on campus and allow you to choose meal plans and search for roommates. The housing lease is a legally binding document that secures your place in university housing and commits you to living on campus unless you choose not to attend CCU.
How can I cancel my housing lease?
Housing Lease Cancellation requests must be submitted through the CCU Housing Portal and approved by the Director of Residence Life.
Is on-campus housing co-ed?
CCU housing is not co-ed. All apartments—including bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms—are single-gender. Freshman stairwells are grouped as single-gender areas, while upperclassmen housing maintains single-gender apartments. However, male and female apartments may be on the same floor with visitation policies in place.
When do the residence halls open and close for the year?
Residence halls typically open in late August for the fall semester (new students arrive first, followed by returning students) and close at noon in mid-December after final exams.
For the spring semester, halls reopen in early January and close at noon in early May after final exams and commencement. Summer housing is available for students enrolled in summer courses with separate opening and closing dates.
Specific dates vary each year, so check the current academic calendar for exact move-in and move-out times for each semester.
What appliances are provided in my room?
All CCU apartments come fully furnished and equipped with major appliances. Each student receives an extra-long twin bed, desk, desk chair, and dresser. Common areas include a couch, chairs, coffee table, end table, and kitchen table with chairs. Kitchen appliances include a full-size refrigerator, electric stove with oven, and dishwasher (in most units).
Peaks apartments, Yetter Hall, Rockmont Hall, and Duplexes include microwaves and in-unit washers and dryers, while Harwood and Waite Hall residents use a shared laundry room. All apartments also feature wireless internet, cable television, air conditioning (in newer buildings), and plenty of closet space.
Are pets allowed in on-campus housing?
No pets are allowed in on-campus housing, with the exception of fish in tanks of 25 gallons or less. However, students with documented accommodation needs may be approved for service animals or emotional support animals (ESAs) through CCU's accommodations process.
How safe is on-campus housing?
Residence Life provides a safe environment with 24/7/365 security service protecting the community, and the campus is conveniently located within four blocks of Lakewood Police Headquarters. The 24-hour security service will escort any student on campus upon request, and students should take standard precautions like keeping doors locked and ensuring personal items are covered by insurance.
What are the policies for breaks and holidays?
Residents are not allowed to stay in residence halls over winter break unless special permission is granted (usually for an additional fee), though summer housing is available at additional cost. The halls remain open during Thanksgiving and Spring breaks. You may leave your belongings in your room during all breaks except summer break.
