REJOICE — A Faculty Recital

We invite you to join us for REJOICE — A Recital of Inspiration and Celebration, an evening of music with CCU's own Dr. Irina Moreland and Professor Héctor Jardón.

Rejoice is an uplifting musical journey celebrating faith, hope, imagination, and the enduring power of the human spirit. The recital brings together the magnificent sonority of the organ, the expressive voice of the saxophone, and the warmth of the piano.

The program features the Colorado premiere of Faith by contemporary Dutch composer Ad Wammes, performed in an arrangement for organ and saxophone. Also included is Song for the Summit by Jon Schmidt, a stirring work that evokes determination, aspiration, and the joy of reaching new heights.

The recital ventures beyond the traditional concert experience with music from Hans Zimmer’s Interstellar, arranged for saxophone, rhythm track, and organ. Its expansive harmonies and compelling rhythms create a powerful musical vision of time, space, discovery, and wonder.

The program will also feature a selection of beloved worship music arranged for saxophone and piano. These heartfelt arrangements combine the lyrical expression of the saxophone with the rich, supportive voice of the piano, creating moments of prayer, reflection, and joyful praise.

Blending sacred inspiration with contemporary sounds, Rejoice invites the audience to experience music as a source of renewal, reflection, worship, and celebration.
