Biography and Professional Achievements

Dr. Ashley Denton believes that the purpose of the Outdoor Leadership program at CCU is to develop students who will facilitate outdoor experiences to grow people in Christ-likeness, for the sake of others, to the glory of God. The program is not about recreation; it is about re-creation. It is not about survival skills; it is about thrival skills.

Denton is the Director of the Wilderness Ministry Institute, Vice President of Nexus International, and an Adjunct Professor in Outdoor Leadership at Denver Seminary. He is the author of the book, Christian Outdoor Leadership: Theology, Theory, and Practice. Denton is also a former Young Life area director for Colorado and national director in New Zealand.
