Biography and Professional Achievements

Dr. Grania Gothard Holman has lived, studied, and worked abroad in Costa Rica and Honduras and was fortunate enough to enter college with Advanced Placement credit in German, French, and Spanish. While attending Auburn, she taught as Faculty Aerobics Instructor, was a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA), served as the President of the Women's Chorus, performed with the Opera Workshop and the Concert Choir, and was also a member of the Fine Arts Committee, as well as Sigma Delta Pi and Kappa Delta Pi Honorary Societies.

Holman has taught at all levels, K-12, and at the university level – having taught Spanish, Reading, Literacy, Special Education, Educational Methods and Research courses, Leadership courses, as well as various associate, master, specialist and doctoral level courses. She was nominated as "Who's Who Among America's Teachers", have led staff development courses, presented at the state level for the Foreign Language Association of Georgia (FLAG), and served as Volunteer Liaison, New Teacher Mentor, and Language Arts Support Strategist.

One of her great passions was working as a professional vocal instructor at performing arts studios, and as a foreign language and ESOL tutor. Dr. Holman served as Director of Children's Music Ministries for years at her local church, presenting two major theatrical productions a year with over one hundred 1st-5th graders while also working as a Costume Coordinator and Set Designer. Additionally, one of her greatest adventures in music was recording two CDs.

Transitioning to the world of online teaching from the brick and mortar setting, Holman has experience working as an Adjunct and/or Assistant Professor with various online institutions where she has served and/or currently serve as capstone evaluator, lead instructor, course developer, dissertation committee chair, instructional advisor (IA), subject matter expert (SME), faculty mentor, and instructional mentor (IM).

Holman and her husband, Patrick, also an educator and Reserve Deputy Sheriff, are co-founders of HERO Inc. (Holman Educational Resources Omnimedia). They have six wonderful children, an Oldenburg horse, a Malti-shi dog, and tabby cat, and reside in metro Atlanta.
