Biography and Professional Achievements

I began my teaching career at Fort Logan Elementary School in the Sheridan School District. I taught first grade and Title I for 15 years. For the last 16 years, I have been at the Colorado Department of Education as the director of Competitive Grants and Awards. During this time, I taught classes in reading and developed courses for the College of Adult and Graduate Studies at CCU. In November 2017, I became a Teacher Preparation Program Specialist in the School of Education and taught the course, Introduction to Special Education. This fall, I will continue to place teacher candidates in partner schools for field experience, as well as teach the courses Content Literacy and Writing, and Introduction to Special Education.

In 2015, I was awarded Outstanding Faculty of the Year by the College of Adult and Graduate Studies.
