Why CCU?

While searching for an institute of higher education, I witnessed the battle many "conservative" or "Christian" universities are facing in America today: a battle "against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens" (Ephesians 6:12). A battle that many are losing. During my college search, I perceived that these schools are becoming lukewarm in their values, adopting the compromising language of the world rather than the courageous stance of Christ's church and the people of a nation firmly under God. God revealed CCU to me as a center of hope for my generation of Christians and Americans, a school that values strong academics while focusing on the truth of God's word and preserving the vision of America. I wanted to become a part of this faithful community where I could grow in my convictions, contribute to the body of Christ, and shed light outward from there.

How did you hear about CCU?

My sister graduated from CCU in 2018. Previously I had convinced myself that I wanted to go somewhere new, but during my last years of high school, God changed my heart. He revealed things to me about himself and the world; with an identity rooted in Him, and a heart for my generation of Christians, I accepted his direction toward CCU.

How is your CCU experience?

From the first day I stepped on campus, I have been loved and challenged as I pursue all the opportunities God has blessed me with through CCU. The girls I live with have offered me an incredible amount of support and encouragement, and I am learning how to function alongside my peers as a body of Christ. My professors, advisors, and other leaders have taught me much about communication, hard work, and balance in the real world. I appreciate having chapel services, small group Bible studies, and stairwell meetings structured into my daily life. The food, housing, and beautiful campus also contribute to making school really feel like home!

What do you hope to achieve after you complete your degree?

I will be graduating from CCU as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army through the ROTC program. I hope to attend medical school and serve in the United States military as a medical professional, and I look forward to exercising leadership and excellence as I serve others and follow God's will.
