Admission Application Requirements for Military Students

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Colorado Christian University is committed to providing Christ-centered education to veterans, dependents of active duty military and veterans, and to future leaders in the military.

As a Yellow Ribbon institution, we are approved for Veterans Educational Benefits provided by the Montgomery GI Bill®, the Post-9/11 GI Bill®, and Vocational Rehabilitation.

All of the traditional and residential-based associate and bachelor programs available through our College of Undergraduate Studies are approved for payment of Post-9/11 GI Bill® education benefits. In most cases — provided you are receiving 100% of the benefit — the Post-9/11 GI Bill® covers the full cost of tuition and fees.

Traditional undergraduate students who are taking classes on campus are eligible to participate in Army and Air Force ROTC programs and receive scholarships. If you are interested in using your VA-GI Bill® benefits, or the benefits of a parent or guardian in CCU’s College of Undergraduate Studies, please contact our Undergraduate Office of Admission.

Financial aid counselors and military benefits advisors receive extensive, on-going training, and are well equipped to assist students on the financial aid, tuition assistance, and other various military and VA benefits requirements.

Financial aid deadlines

The priority application deadline for financial aid and scholarship consideration is April 1 for the fall semester and November 1 for the spring semester. However, CCU will continue to accept applications after these deadlines until our enrollment capacity is reached.

Admission requirements

CCU sets test scores and grade point averages as our minimum level of acceptance for traditional undergraduate students. Normally, the minimum requirements for admission are:

Colorado Christian University accepts CLT examination results as an alternative to the ACT. Students can utilize a concordance to source an ACT equivalent to the CLT score as a point of reference for scholarship estimation. CCU will take the highest scored exam submitted to determine merit scholarship eligibility. NCAA regulations require that potential student-athletes must still take the ACT/SAT at an approved location to become eligible to participate in NCAA sports — CLT scores are not accepted for student-athletes.

Students who do not meet these minimum requirements are encouraged to apply as we consider each application under a committee review process which may include a personal interview. Factors such as essay content, recommendation content, and extracurricular activity all contribute to an individual admission decision.

CCU Test-Optional Policy

Colorado Christian University has implemented a test-optional policy for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 academic years. This will allow most freshman applicants the option to be considered for admission without submission of ACT, SAT or CLT scores. The Office of Undergraduate Admission is able to evaluate most applicants for admission with or without the use of test scores by reviewing the rigor of high school coursework, written essays, and spiritual recommendation. However, to qualify for a Distinguished Achievement or Trustees’ scholarship, a standardized test score is required. See our Scholarships page for more information.
