CCU President Eric Hogue

Eric Hogue assumed the presidency of Colorado Christian University in June 2023. Since becoming president, he has advanced a clear, Christ-centered vision for the University, marked by strategic clarity, institutional transparency, and disciplined accountability across theological, organizational, and fiscal priorities.

Under President Hogue’s leadership, CCU has implemented a University Performance Model grounded in clearly defined key performance indicators, strengthening institutional accountability and data-informed decision-making across academic and operational units. The University has completed an operational turnaround: meeting budget through operational revenue without reliance on philanthropic support, while continuing to invest in mission-critical priorities.

During his presidency, CCU has achieved record enrollment and expanded academic and experiential learning infrastructure, including the opening of the Armstrong Center, as well as a new Kinesiology Lab and Strategic Communications Lab, all designed to better prepare students for professional leadership and service. He has also overseen the raising of $14 million toward the historic construction of the University’s first purpose-designed, competition-ready, athletic facility that reflects the University’s mission and supports its student-athletes.

President Hogue has further articulated the University’s long-term vision through the launch of the “Be a Great Christian University” campaign, setting forth nine aspirational ideals that guide institutional priorities and shape the University’s future.

President Hogue previously served as vice president of University Advancement at CCU, where he led a comprehensive fundraising effort exceeding $45 million. During that tenure, he oversaw the launch of the CCU Endowment Foundation, which has grown from $5 million to more than $15 million in just five years. His leadership also included $33.5 million raised for the Armstrong Center, the launch of a $44 million Science & Engineering Center campaign, and the creation of the CCU Fund and Hope Fund, together raising more than $1.5 million annually to support student scholarships and mission-critical priorities.

Prior to joining CCU in 2018, President Hogue served for six years as chief development officer at William Jessup University, where he tripled the University’s endowment and led two successful campus capital campaigns.

President Hogue holds a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from William Jessup University. He brings a distinctive blend of experience as a former political candidate, pastor and practicing theologian, and long-tenured radio, television, and media professional. He is the author of The Winning Side of the Ask: The Heart and Skills of the Donor-Centric Professional Fundraiser, a resource for nonprofit leaders seeking to cultivate healthy, donor-centered philanthropic cultures.

He and his wife, Tammy—an award-winning educator shaped by Christ-centered higher education—have two adult daughters, two sons-in-law, and four grandchildren.
