CCU Academy Accommodation Information

Colorado Christian University (CCU) Academy offers eligible students with documented disabilities,  medical conditions and/or Title IX / Pregnancy that impact their educational experience the opportunity to explore reasonable accommodations to ensure equal access to academic programs and the University experience.

Prospective and current students seeking accommodations must contact the Online Dual Enrollment (ODE) Manager and complete the full accommodations request process to determine eligibility.

Please note: Informing general faculty or staff about a condition prior to receiving approval from the ODE Manager does not guarantee accommodations. Accommodations may only be implemented by faculty after a student has completed the official process through the ODE Manager at CCU Academy Online and the student has submitted an approved Certificate of Accommodations (COA)  to their instructor. No other department at the University is authorized to evaluate or approve disability or medical condition initial accommodation requests without an approved COA for CCU Academy students.

Disability/ Medical Condition Accommodation Request Process
It is the student's responsibility to provide appropriate documentation of their disability or medical condition, including any functional limitations that may affect academic performance. The following documents must be submitted to the ODE Manager:

  • Accommodation Application
  • Release of Information Form
  • Diagnosis Verification Form (formally known as the Physician’s Verification Form)

Current students should complete the Accommodation Application online at eforms.ccu.edu.
Prospective students or students unable to access E-Forms may request a PDF copy of the application by emailing kelturner@ccu.edu.

Once all required documents have been received, the ODE Manager will request to schedule a phone intake with the student. This interactive process includes reviewing documentation and discussing the student’s needs to determine reasonable accommodations that ensure equal access.

Please note: While CCU is committed to providing access, the University cannot modify essential academic program requirements or compromise curriculum and learning objectives.

Disability Related Grievance Policy:

CCU prohibits retaliation against anyone who files a grievance under the grievance policy or otherwise protests that they have been denied equal access in the form of appropriate accommodations. This prohibition of retaliation similarly extends to anyone who has testified, assisted, or participated in any manner in an investigation or proceeding related to a disability/accessibility accommodations grievance or complaint under this policy. CCU encourages students who disagree with a decision concerning a requested accommodation or feels they have been discriminated against to attempt to resolve their concerns by first discussing them with the ODE Manager in writing. If you are unable to resolve the concern with the ODE Manager, individuals reserve the right to request the concern be escalated to the Caleb Stewart, Associate Director of Student Success prior to filing a formal grievance. If a resolution is not received, any student who believes that a decision regarding accommodations has not been made in accordance with applicable law may file a formal grievance with the Dean of CCU Academy.

Title IX/ Pregnancy Accommodation Request Process and Policy:

Colorado Christian University’s Title IX Coordinators work in close partnership with the appropriate accommodations departments to ensure that students who disclose the need for Title IX-related accommodations, whether to the Title IX Coordinators or directly to the accommodations department, receive the support they are eligible for. This collaboration ensures a coordinated response that provides prompt access while respecting student privacy and individual needs.

To support this commitment, CCU Academy students are encouraged to communicate their accommodation needs as early as possible to help ensure a timely and supportive process. Students seeking Title IX accommodations may contact the Title IX Coordinators or reach out directly to Kelsey Turner, the Online Dual Enrollment (ODE) Manager overseeing CCU Academy accommodations, at kelturner@ccu.edu. Alternatively, students may complete the online Title IX Accommodations Request eForm. For information specifically related to Title IX policies, procedures, or grievances, please visit ccu.edu/titleix.
