RN to BSN Admission Requirements

Admission to the RN to BSN Track

Step 1: Apply for admission to the College of Adult and Graduate Studies to complete your RN-BSN prerequisites.

Prior to admission to the RN-BSN track, students must complete RN-BSN track prerequisites in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS).

Step 2: Apply for admission to the RN-BSN track.

After completing the first prerequisite course through the College of Adult and Graduate Studies, students may apply for admission to the RN-BSN track.

Please note: All nursing prerequisites must be successfully completed prior to taking any nursing courses.

Students must also meet the following admission requirements for the RN-BSN track:

  • A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  • An associate degree in nursing or diploma in nursing from a nationally accredited program and accredited institution
  • Proof of active unencumbered RN licensure (U.S.)
  • A completed background check and drug screen through CastleBranch. Use student package code CG84. Fees apply and are the responsibility of the student. The background check must be completed no more than six months prior to the start of nursing courses. Be sure to review the list of disqualifying offenses.

The application process for admission to CCU's RN to BSN track is competitive. Once enrolled in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies, the Student Services Advisor assists the student in the admission and progression process.

State Exclusions for Online Students

The School of Nursing at Colorado Christian University offers courses to online students in all states with the exception of the following program-specific state exclusions:

  • CAGS does not offer Bachelor of Science in Nursing RN to BSN Track to online students who reside in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
  • CAGS does not offer Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Clinical Care Management in Adult and Geriatrics courses to online students who reside in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
  • CAGS does not offer Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Nursing Education courses to online students who reside in Alabama, Alaska, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
  • CAGS does not offer Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) courses to online students who reside in Alabama, Alaska, District of Columbia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Washington, Wisconsin, or Wyoming.
