Programs Designed for Adult Students
The College of Adult and Graduate Studies at CCU offers associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, doctoral degrees, and certificate programs specifically designed to meet the needs of adult learners. Our adult education classes are taught from a Christian worldview, emphasizing how your personal values and ethics can impact your education, your life, and your work. Since many adult students are interested in online degree programs, nearly all of our courses are offered 100% online.
For students interested in completing both a bachelor's and master's degree, CCU offers several dual degree programs to help save both time and money. In addition, students may choose a minor to develop deeper competencies in a subject area that complements their CCU's bachelor's degree.

Is CCU CAGS the same university as the Lakewood campus?
Yes. CCU CAGS, which is CCU's College of Adult and Graduate Studies, is one of three divisions inside Colorado Christian University, alongside the traditional undergraduate program and CCU Academy. Your degree comes from Colorado Christian University, and your transcript and diploma do not distinguish between adult, online, or on-campus programs. The same quality education, accreditation, and mission apply across all divisions.
Is CCU accredited?
Yes. Colorado Christian University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), an accreditor recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. CCU is also approved for federal financial aid (Title IV) and veterans education benefits. Specific programs carry additional specialized accreditations.
Which CCU CAGS programs have specialized program accreditations?
Specialized accreditations include the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for nursing programs, the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) for clinical counseling, and Colorado Department of Education approval for teacher licensure programs. All programs carry HLC institutional accreditation.
How is faith integrated into CCU CAGS coursework?
Every CCU CAGS program teaches the subject matter through a Christian worldview, and the Bible is used in every class. A business course explores ethical leadership. A counseling course addresses whole-person care. A nursing course connects clinical practice to Christian service. Faculty integrate professional expertise with faith perspectives across every discipline.
Do I have to be Christian to enroll at CCU CAGS?
You do not have to be Christian to enroll. You do need to be comfortable engaging with Christian perspectives in coursework and discussion. Students from many faith backgrounds and no faith background study at CCU CAGS. The approach is authentic, not forced.
Will CCU CAGS feel preachy or indoctrinating?
No. CCU CAGS balances spiritual depth with practical application and focuses on integrating faith into career and life rather than pushing any single denominational position. Professors teach rigorous content and invite faith-based reflection, but the coursework is academically serious and career-focused first.
Do employers recognize a degree from CCU CAGS?
Yes. Your diploma and transcript come from Colorado Christian University and do not distinguish between adult, online, and campus programs. CCU is accredited by HLC, which is the gold standard most employers and graduate schools recognize. Licensure programs carry additional specialized accreditations.
How long does it take to complete a CCU CAGS degree?
Time to completion depends on how many credits you transfer in and how many courses you take per year. Many adult learners complete a bachelor's in 2 to 4 years and a master's in 18 to 24 months. Because CCU runs 5-week blocks and allows one course at a time, motivated students can move faster.
