  • Wednesday, August 21:

    Move-In: Please check your move-in time based on your residence hall assignment.

    Alameda Drive Entrance

    During your assigned time period (see list below) please drive onto campus through our main Alameda drive entrance where you will be directed through our check in process, receive your welcome packet, keys and move into your assigned housing. There will be students and security officers to direct you where to go. One person must stay with your car at all times.

    • Rockmont Hall: 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. (For those attending the dedication)
      • 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
    • Harwood and Waite Halls: 1-2:00 p.m.
    • Yetter Hall 4th Floor: 2-2:30 p.m.
    • Yetter Hall 3rd Floor: 2:30-3:00 p.m.
    • Yetter Hall 2nd Floor: 3-3:30 p.m.
    • Yetter Hall 1st Floor: 3:30-4:00 p.m.

    10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.: Rockmont Hall Dedication

    Alumni, faculty, staff, donors, and residents of Rockmont Hall will gather to celebrate the dedication and opening of CCU’s newest residence hall.

    11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.: Rockmont Hall Move-In

    If you have not already, follow the route to check in for WOW and receive your welcome packet. Then proceed to your assigned unloading zone to move in.

    1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.: Lunch for Rockmont Hall Residents and Guests

    After moving in to Rockmont Hall, enjoy lunch in the Anschutz Student Center Dining Commons.

    4:30-5:00 p.m.: CCU Dining Accommodations (Optional)

    Anschutz Student Center Dining Hall (Meet inside entrance)

    Join Sodexo Dining Services to learn more about how they plan to accommodate nutritional or dietary needs. This session will also be offered at 6:00pm.

    Dinner

    5:00-6:00 p.m.: Blue Group (Rockmont, Harwood, and Waite Halls)
    6:15-7:15 p.m.: Gold Group (Yetter Hall, and the Peaks)

    You will be given a blue or gold lanyard with a nametag that will coordinate with a meal group time; this is your meal ticket for WOW, so please wear it at all times. All meals are free of charge to the families of new students. Meals for new students will be deducted from their meal plans. To accommodate our guests, we will provide two different dinner shifts to keep lines down.

    6-6:30 p.m.: CCU Dining Accommodations (Optional)

    7:15-8:00 p.m.: Honors Reception

    This session is for students who have been accepted into the Honors program and their parents to connect with each other and get to know the Honors program and faculty.

    8-9:00 p.m.: Ice-cream Social

    Anschutz Student Center Patio

    Enjoy music and a fun time getting to know your peers, as well as treats served by your Enrollment Counselors.

    Thursday, August 22:

    8-9:00 a.m.: Breakfast

    Both Blue and Gold groups are welcome to start off their day during this time. Please bring your WOW lanyard for admission.

    8:30-9:00 a.m.: Commuter Check-In

    Please check in to receive you nametag, t-shirt, and WOW materials.

    9-10:00 a.m.: Meet your LDC Advisor

    Event Center

    You will have the opportunity to meet your Life Directions Center (LDC) advisor and learn about the resources available. Your LDC advisor serves as your academic advisor to help you navigate through your degree plan.

    10:15-11:00 a.m.: Meet your FYI Instructor

    Find your location on the back of your lanyard

    Gather with your FYI class for a time to get to know your FYI Instructor and classmates during your first meeting together.

    11:15 a.m.: Campus Tour (optional)

    Meet at the fireplace in the Anschutz lobby for a tour of CCU’s campus by a member of our Admissions team.

    11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Community Resource and Involvement Fair

    Leprino Lawn (Rain location: Event Center)

    Come by the Community Resource and Involvement Fair to learn about different CCU departments, ways to get involved on campus, and the resources available to you at CCU and throughout the Lakewood Community.

    Lunch

    11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m.: Blue Group
    12:15 p.m.-1:00 p.m.: Gold Group

    Hear from fellow students who have transferred to CCU in past semesters. Learn how they successfully transitioned into the CCU community.

    2:00-2:45 p.m.: Commuter Meeting

    Anschutz Student Center Ampitheater

    All commuter students are required to attend this meeting to learn about important CCU policies and Discipleship Groups. Learn how to make CCU your “home away from home” through programming and events designed just for you, as well as how to sign up for one of CCU’s favorite traditions: Moonlight Volleyball.

    1:45-2:45 p.m.: Mandatory Residential Meeting

    Event Center

    This is a required meeting for all students living on campus. Get to know your Resident Assistant, as well as the rest of your stairwell or pod. Please bring your Student ID to scan in for attendance.

    Join us for a special address to incoming students and families. The staff, faculty, and student leaders of the CCU community gather to pray for our new community members. Don’t miss this very special CCU tradition, and be sure to wear your WOW shirt.

    Join the hundreds of your fellow new families, current students, staff, and faculty as we celebrate the start of a new year. Don’t miss this time of fellowship, music, games, and a chance to get to know other members of the CCU Community.

    Friday, August 23:

    9-10:00 a.m.: Chapel

    Event Center

    Take a peek at what Chapel will be like during your time at CCU, hear from the campus pastor, and worship with your new peers.

    10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.: Brunch with Family

    Off Campus

    Use this time to go out to brunch with your family before saying “see you later.” The WOW program for parents concludes at this time. You will find a list of restaurants and discounts in your WOW packet. If you would like to stay on campus, brunch is also being served in the Anschutz Student Center Dining Hall.

    1-5:00 p.m.: Service Day

    Meet in the Event Center

    Join your fellow students as you serve the Denver community. This event is coordinated by the Life Directions Center. Be sure to wear your WOW t-shirt, close-toed shoes, and sunscreen, and bring a water bottle. You will receive additional information from your FYI instructor.

    5-6:45 p.m.: Dinner with Your FYI Class

    Anschutz Student Center Dining Hall

    After returning to campus, enjoy dinner with your FYI class and instructor.

    6-8:00 p.m.: Movie Under the Stars

    Anschutz Lawn

    Relax after a day of serving the community with a movie on a giant blow-up screen, snacks, and lawn games.

    Saturday, August 24:

    11:30 a.m.: Moonlight Volleyball

    You don’t want to miss this annual tradition as stairwells, pods, and commuter teams compete to find out who will emerge as the volleyball champion.

    Learn more about EMS. We exist to provide professionalism and job training, along with job placement that is specific to your student’s needs and abilities.

    Wondering what it’s like to live on campus? Check out this workshop led by Residence Life.

    • Life Directions Center (LDC) -Leprino 106

    Get to know the LDC leadership and the services that are offered to your students during their time at CCU including academic advising, study abroad, accessibility accommodations, and more. Following a short presentation, there will be a time for questions.

    If your son or daughter is currently involved in a CCU sport, this workshop is for you.

    This workshop will inform parents about the services offered through CCU Financial Aid and what parents need to know for the next three years. This is the time to ask questions!

    Learn more about the free counseling services available on campus to all students, as well as information about health services provided by our campus nurse.
