Minor in Sacred Music and Literature

Learn to express your love to God through music, literature, and the study of His Word.

The minor in Sacred Music and Literature prepares students to serve in ministry, pursue graduate study, and live as disciples of Christ through an interdisciplinary course of study in music, poetry, art, theology, and history. An in-depth study of a variety of areas will be explored throughout this program including, research and analysis, public presentation, and collaborative exploration of the ways in which sacred music, poetry, and art affect our lives as followers of Christ in the church and the world. The Sacred Music Minor is offered through the School of Music.

A minor offers a concentrated area of coursework to supplement your major field of study. It is designed to enhance the range of topics and knowledge for a well-rounded student. It can provide exposure to important concepts that help students prepare for a fast-paced workplace.

Sacred Music and Literature at CCU

The Sacred Music and Literature program at CCU seeks to provide students with the chance to be stewards of the gift of art that God has given us while making it a part of their academic experience.

About the School of Music

The School of Music equips students with the necessary skills to become expressive artists and effective communicators from a Christian perspective through the discipline of music. Our students use music and theatre to impact culture for Christ, to honor Him, and to share His love on campus and around the world. Opportunities are open to students of all majors and include national and international tours for major ensembles and an on-campus recording studio.

Become a leader in both the world and the church as you learn to combine a progressive and distinctly Christian worldview with classical, jazz, contemporary, and world music.
